How to download Instagram reels and videos

RamRom guide · Updated 21 October 2026

Instagram lets you save posts inside the app, but that bookmark disappears if the post is deleted. If you want an actual copy of a reel or video on your device — above all, your own content — here is how RamRom handles it.

Step 1: Copy the post link

Open the reel or video post in Instagram. Tap the Share (paper plane) icon, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address bar while the post is open. The link should look like instagram.com/reel/… or instagram.com/p/…

Step 2: Paste it into RamRom

On the RamRom home page, paste the link into the box and press Download. RamRom looks up the post's public information and shows you its thumbnail and details.

Step 3: Download

Press Download and the video file saves to your device, ready to watch offline or store with the rest of your files.

Backing up your own reels

Creators: your Reels tab is not a backup. If your account is ever hacked, locked or removed, everything on it goes with it. Downloading your own reels after posting — and keeping them in a folder with the date and title — takes seconds and guarantees you always hold the finished version of your work, even if the original project files are gone.

Please download responsibly

Download your own videos freely. For anyone else's, get their permission first, and never re-upload another creator's work as your own — it violates Instagram's terms and copyright law.
