How to download YouTube Shorts and videos
RamRom blog · 23 October 2026
Shorts links work exactly like normal YouTube links on RamRom — paste one and you get the same download choices. This post explains those choices honestly, including the one thing most tools hide: what quality you really get, and why "YouTube to MP3" is usually not quite what it claims.
How to download a Short or video
- In YouTube, tap Share and Copy link (on a computer, copy the address bar).
- Paste the link into RamRom and tap Download.
- Choose from the list and tap Download — the file opens straight from the provider to your device.
The quality list, in plain words
- The version with sound is usually 360p. That is the format YouTube itself bundles with audio included, and it is the right pick for most Shorts and quick saves.
- Higher resolutions (720p and up) are supplied without sound by the services behind tools like this one. They suit editors who add their own audio — not casual viewing.
- Audio (M4A) saves just the sound. M4A is the modern format phones record and play natively — it works in every current music app and editor. Some sites relabel this file "MP3"; we list it honestly as M4A instead.
For creators: your own uploads
Downloading your own Shorts and videos is the fastest backup there is — keep the with-sound version as your safety copy, and the audio file if you reuse your voiceovers or music in new edits.
The rights part
YouTube's terms allow downloading only where YouTube itself offers a download button, unless the content is your own or you have the rights holder's permission. RamRom's guides assume you are saving your own work or content you are allowed to keep — please keep it that way, and support the creators you enjoy.
